About Aurora Health Care
At Aurora Health Care, helping people live well is what drives us – it's our purpose and what we do every day. Living well can mean many things; from treatment or cure, to prevention and end-of-life care. Our purpose is about caring and hope. Our integration as a not-for-profit system began in 1984 when two Milwaukee hospitals, St. Luke's Medical Center and Good Samaritan Medical Center, affiliated to become Aurora Health Care. With a single vision of finding better ways to provide health care, our new organization grew as other hospitals, medical groups and health care providers who shared our vision joined us.
Today more than 30,000 caregivers, including 1500 employed physicians, offer care in 15 hospitals, 82 retail pharmacies, 172 clinics, labs and home care settings. As Wisconsin's largest private employer and health care provider we are proud to care for more than 1.2 million patients annually.
